The Sunday Joint with Galaxians
Sunday 14 December 2014
The legendary Sunday Joint has now been playing host to some of the greatest Soul, Latin, Hip Hop, Funk & Salsa acts for the past 15 years. Past acts to grace the stage include Gentlemans Dub Club, Haggis Horns, Submotion Orchestra, Corinne Bailey Rae, Ugly Duckling, Auntie Flo, Andrew Ashong, Mayer Hawthrone, Fatima & The Eglo Band and many many more!
Following on from the band, DJs Bonar Bradbury, Mikey J, Stu Fear and the Butter Side Up crew will be playing a mighty fine mix of Hip Hop, Funk, Soul and Reggae into the early hours of Monday morning.
Taking their cues from 80s NY / Chicago labels such as SAM, Are ‘n’ Bee, TRAX, and Sleeping Bag , and producers such as Leroy Burgess and John Morales, Galaxians fuse classic Roland TR analog drum machine sounds with acoustic drums and analog synthesizers played live. Their live shows have earned them a reputation as an exciting and joyous spectacle, with the soulful energy of both the human hand and heart always at the forefront of their live sets.
Please note that doors are at 10pm with the band onstage at approximately 11pm-ish – It get’s very busy so we advise arriving early doors to guarantee entry!
