    VISION FORTUNE + GALAXIANS + LENIN – LEEDS – 04.03.15

We’re really excited to be on this bill with the excellent Vision Fortune at The Library, Leeds on 4 March.

“London-based trio who deal in heavy drones and pounding repetition” – The Quietus

“Synth plays on industrial autopilot, like Factory Floor with a hatred for dancing. It sounds so good” Norman Records 9/10

    Plus Lenin

“Leeds-based dream pop quartet ‘Lenin’ imbues an innocent fragility within a sometimes abrasive and disturbing sonic setting. Offering a collection of songs cloaked in warped yet poignant imagery, their audacious debut EP attempts to push the boundaries of conventional pop whilst comfortably inhabiting it.” – Lenin Bio

Galaxians are within the same playful electronic sound-frame of artists like Todd Terdje, Errors and Hot Chip. Jed Skinner and Matt Woodward make the kind of ear-pleasing music that’s never takes itself too seriously – always up for a bit of tongue-in-cheek fun, but at the same time brilliantly exacted. The Leeds-based duo have been kicking about since 2012 and have released two vinyl EPs – Personal Disco Component and Galaxians back in June, which have a hint of early LCD Soundsystem and even some Beverly Hills Cop in its four visceral tracks. Live, Galaxians stir up head-nodding funky grooves using drum machines and retro synthesisers – mixing elements of old school dance and soul music wrapped in thumping and clicking beats. After successful stints at Beacons festival and Tramlines festival over the summer – making gig-goers across the UK dance and gawp in appreciative awe in equal measure, the duo are back on the road and heading to Sunderland’s Independent on Saturday 13th December for a night of neo-disco goodness. Get yourself down.

Galaxians play Sunderland’s Independent on Saturday 13th December.
