From the Sunderland Echo…..

The electro duo play Wearside after successful stints at Beacons and Tramlines.
Galaxians are within the same playful electronic sound-frame of artists like Todd Terdje, Errors and Hot Chip. Jed Skinner and Matt Woodward make the kind of ear-pleasing music that’s never takes itself too seriously – always up for a bit of tongue-in-cheek fun, but at the same time brilliantly exacted. The Leeds-based duo have been kicking about since 2012 and have released two vinyl EPs – Personal Disco Component and Galaxians back in June, which have a hint of early LCD Soundsystem and even some Beverly Hills Cop in its four visceral tracks. Live, Galaxians stir up head-nodding funky grooves using drum machines and retro synthesisers – mixing elements of old school dance and soul music wrapped in thumping and clicking beats. After successful stints at Beacons festival and Tramlines festival over the summer – making gig-goers across the UK dance and gawp in appreciative awe in equal measure, the duo are back on the road and heading to Sunderland’s Independent on Saturday 13th December for a night of neo-disco goodness. Get yourself down.

Whoa – ace review of Beacons Festival 2013 here from The Shepherd – a great new music blog that looks pretty exciting. We got a nice review, “party masterclass” is probably the nicest two words anyone’s ever said to us! Thanks guys.
They’ve also done an interview with us, which should be up on their site soon, and put together a ‘highlights’ video which we’ve linked to below, featuring our track “My Shit Is Custom” (out end-2013). Watch out for the naked dude on the inflatable slide…
We totally enjoyed Beacons, even in spite of the rain on Saturday! Highlights for us included Cowtown, Hookworms, Sky Larkin, Savages and Menace Beach.
Roll on summer 2014…
