Music, exciting lightshows, bar, DJs, space talk, science experiments, MASSIVE telescopes, Perseid meteor shower !

A few different creative organizations will be curating individual areas of the site, for those who have visited before each group will be taking over either a telescope or geo-dome. GOLDEN TEACHER
Golden Teacher started life as a studio collaboration between Glasgow’s noise punk trio, Ultimate Thrush and Glasgow’s all analogue house duo, Silk Cut. The results of their collaboration turned the ears of all who heard them, not least Twitch who after one listen asked if he could release the project on Optimo Music label.

Recorded live, direct to tape at Glasgow’s legendary Green Door studios with minimal overdubbing and editing, the tracks feature various associates of the band contributing vocals and additional percussion. It’s a little hard to describe Golden Teacher’s sound (always a good thing in our book) but imagine Arthur Russell’s Dinosaur L jamming with Bobby O, K Alexi Shelby, Liaisions Dangereuses, Imagination, some voodoo drummers and Sly & Robbie. It is in our opinion one of the most original and wildest records to come out of anywhere in 2012. We like to call it hypno-psych voodoo groove.

GALAXIANS
Galaxians is Jed Skinner and Matthew Woodward. Taking their cues from 80s NY / Chicago labels such as SAM, Are ‘n’ Bee, TRAX, and Sleeping Bag , and producers such as Leroy Burgess and John Morales, Galaxians fuse classic Roland TR analog drum machine sounds with acoustic drums and analog synthesizers played live. Their live shows have earned them a reputation as an exciting and joyous spectacle, with the soulful energy of both the human hand and heart always at the forefront of their live sets.

Recent trips to France, Belgium, Italy, and Germany, plus shows with Tom Tom Club and Ultramagnetic MCs have helped establish them as a live act in both the UK and Europe.

Galaxians next vinyl release, due out later in the year, will be on New York label Dither Down.

GAME_PROGRAM
Jon Nash is a busy fella. We all know him as a talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from bands like Hookworms, Cowtown, and Nope. But he also does Game_Program, a one-man electronic soundtracker of imaginary 80s high school coming-of-age dramas. GP evokes sun-drenched Miami beaches, palm trees, and teen dreams. Think College, Giorgio Moroder, Mr Fingers, and more. What’s not to like??

DITHER DOWN (NEW YORK) TO RELEASE GALAXIANS VINYL EP IN 2013!

GALAXIANS EP TO BE RELEASED BY DITHER DOWN RECORDS (NEW YORK)!!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce one of two Galaxians releases scheduled for this year, this one on New York label DITHER DOWN.

Brooklyn-based Dither Down has put out vinyl by artists such as Eli Escobar, Publicist, 33hz, Walker & Royce, Lloydski, and many more.

The EP will be released on both vinyl and digital formats and will feature tracks from our recent sessions at Ghost Town studio in Leeds.

We are extremely excited to be amongst such great company, and to work with such a great label based in one of our favourite cities. It’s an honour and a privilege to join forces with our dance brothers and sisters from NYC!!

TOUR TIMES: BREAKDANCERS AT NANTES (incredible!)

At our show at Le Lieu Unique in Nantes we had the extreme pleasure of playing to some awesome breakdancers – which was captured on camera. These guys are the BEST.

The song that we’re playing is called Skydive and will be released later this year!

We’ve been officially confirmed for Indie Rocket Festival, which takes place in the amazing setting of Pescara, Italy, on 5/6/7 July. We’re looking forward to chomping our way through as much Italian food and drink as possible, whilst catching some rays on the beach….
